
Sussex County Cricket Club was the venue for the launch of a new Sport Relief Fund for Sussex.



Grassroots Grants is funded by the Office of the Third Sector. It is a three-year scheme to March 2011. Sussex Community Foundation will deliver small grants programmes in Brighton & Hove, East and West Sussex.

What we fund
The grants are intended to benefit the community, so can be very wide ranging, including the purchase of equipment such as computers or kitchen facilities, a local community event, small-scale training and staffing costs, local community activities and rent costs.
Grants can be awarded for an existing project or service or for the costs of running an organisation. We can also fund new projects of an existing group. Grants for a project or service can also include overhead costs.
Applications for large items of equipment (£500 or over) are welcomed
Size of Grant
From £250 to a maximum of £5,000. Groups may apply more than once until they have received a maximum of £5,000 in total.

Applications for less than £900 will be considered throughout the year. Applicants will be informed of the decision within 10 working days of the submission of a complete application.
Applications for £900 to £5,000 are subject to closing dates throughout the year. The next closing date is 16th July 2009. Applicants will be informed of the decision within 10 working days of the closing date.
