Setting up your own charitable fund with Sussex Community Foundation is a rewarding and exciting way of supporting the local community, today and over the long term.
A fund provides all the benefits of having a charitable trust, but removes the burden of appointing trustees, handling investments and dealing with correspondence.
You can set up a fund in your own name, or company name, and choose which issues or areas the fund will support. If you wish, you can set up a fund while remaining completely anonymous.
Sussex Community Foundation will manage the fund on your behalf, and give grants to local good causes in line with your wishes. You and your family can be involved as much or as little as you wish in decisions about where the money goes.
It is easy and quick to set up a fund. Standard agreements can be quickly tailored to your wishes. Annual management fees are very low and setting up a fund brings considerable tax advantages for individuals and companies.
The Foundation undertakes all the administration of the fund, including accounting, compliance with charity legal requirements and returns to the Charities Commission. You can draw on our local knowledge and expertise when deciding which causes to support.
