On Friday 21st November Sussex Community Foundation is relocating to Suite B, Falcon Wharf, Railway Lane, Lewes, BN7 2AQ. Our new telephone number will be 01273 409440.

The Acorn scheme gives you the opportunity to build a personal charitable fund over a number of years. For a minimum donation of £1,000 a year, including gift aid, you can establish an Acorn Fund. By making small regular donations you will be able to make a lasting and long term difference to your community.
If you are a basic rate tax-payer a gift aid donation of £65 a month will add up to £1,000 a year after Sussex Community Foundation has reclaimed the tax rebate. Higher rate tax payers can also claim a reduction on their personal tax bill.
If your circumstances change, for example your income increases or you receive additional money through inheritance or sale of a business, you can increase your regular payments, allowing you to grow your Acorn Fund faster.
Your contribution will add to the Sussex Investment Fund and the interest will be used for general grant making, until the balance of the fund reaches £25,000. At this point your Acorn Fund becomes a Named Fund and attracts all the associated benefits, for example you can set up the fund in your own name or company name, and choose which issues or areas the fund will support.
The scheme has become well-established at other community foundations, for example the Community Foundation serving Tyne & Wear and Northumberland.
