Southern Water is hosting the Super Irish Race day at Fontwell Park racecourse, near Arundel on Saturday 2 October 2010.

In December 2009, K2 Crawley opened its doors to 160 corporate bankers, accountant and lawyers from the area as they participated in the second annual Crawathlon to raise money for local charities.
The Crawathlon is a mini triathlon which is completed by teams of ten people. The team, between them, must complete a 1.9 km (1.2 miles) swim, 21.09 km (13.1 miles) run which will take place on the outdoor track and a 45km (28 miles) cycle on fixed bikes in the gym in two relays.
Winners for the second year running were the team from Thomas Eggar, completing all events in an impressive time of 2 hours 55 minutes.
To date the event has raised well over the target sum of £15,000 with the top fundraisers on the day being Stevens & Bolton. This year the funds will be distributed to Olive Tree Cancer Support, Crawley and East Grinstead Parkinson’s Disease Society, Outreach 3 Way and the Crawley Open House, all of which are local charities.
Dave Downey, Community Sports Development Officer at K2 Crawley, said: “We’re really pleased to be opening our doors to the corporate professionals for the Crawathlon. Not only are they be keeping fit and networking but local charities will benefit from their hard work also.“
Sarah Beauvallet, Relationship Director, Santander, South East Corporate Banking Centre, said: “The idea of the event started last year when it struck me that local corporate professionals would welcome the opportunity to raise money for local charities, keep fit in the lead up to Christmas and have a pre-Christmas opportunity to network. I was lucky enough to meet the Sussex Community Foundation who have helped to identify local, grassroots charities in the local area and overseeing the allocation of funds to these very good causes. We’d also like to say thank you to Freedom Leisure for allowing us to use the great facilities at K2 Crawley”
Support on the day was also very kindly being provided by Evans Cycles and the Crawley Triathlon Club as well as a number of local sixth formers from various sports academies.
